Mechanical Connectors are connectors that are utilized to form permanent or reusable electrical wire connections to equipment. Mechanical connectors are available as copper or aluminum Lugs and Split Bolts, and are either castings or stamped and mechanically formed. Mechanical Lugs come in single or multiple-barrel configurations, for single or multiple-wire applications. Split bolts are either copper or aluminum, and are also used to create continuous electrical connectivity between wires. As the name implies, wire ends are mechanically fastened into the connector, and the connector is subsequently fastened to equipment, forming a reliable electrical connection.
