Suggested Specification
for PAN-TERM® Non-Insulated Terminals |
Non-insulated ring or fork compression type terminals shall be Panduit
PAN-TERM® P-series type terminals. The terminals shall be tin-plated
copper, fully annealed, with a brazed seam and stamped markings on the
tongue. The barrel shall be of extended length, with internal barrel serrations
for high reliability terminations. Panduit recommended tooling shall be
used for installation.

Suggested Specification
for PAN-TERM® Vinyl Insulated Terminals |
Vinyl insulated ring or fork compression type terminals shall be Panduit
PAN-TERM® PV-series type terminals. The terminal shall be tin-plated
copper, fully annealed, with a brazed seam and stamped markings on the
tongue. The barrel shall be of extended length, with internal barrel serrations
for high reliability terminations. The insulation shall be vinyl, with
a funnel-type entry. Panduit recommended tooling shall be used for installation.

Suggested Specification
for PAN-TERM® Nylon Insulated Terminals |
Nylon insulated ring or fork compression type terminals shall be Panduit
PAN-TERM® PN or PNF-series type terminals. The terminal shall
be tin-plated copper, manufactured with a 3-piece construction, fully annealed
with stamped markings on the tongue. A tin-plated brass insulation grip
sleeve will be used for strain relief. This brass sleeve will be permanently
attached to the wire barrel and be nylon insulated. Panduit recommended
tooling shall be used for installation.

Suggested Specification
for PAN-TERM® Disconnects |
Insulated or non-insulated compression type disconnects shall be Panduit
PAN-TERM® disconnects. The disconnect shall be made of tin-plated
brass, with stamped markings. When insulation is required, nylon or vinyl
material shall be used. Panduit recommended tooling shall be used.

Suggested Specification
for PAN-TERM® Butt Splices |
Insulated or non-insulated compression type splices shall be Panduit
PAN-TERM® butt splices. The butt splice shall be made of tin-plated
copper, with stamped markings on the barrel. The butt splice shall have
a brazed seam, with an internal wire stop. When insulation is required,
nylon or vinyl material shall be used. Panduit recommended tooling shall
be used for installation.

Suggested Specification
for PAN-TERM® Parallel Splices |
Insulated or non-insulated compression type splices shall be Panduit
PAN-TERM® parallel splices. The parallel splice shall be made
of tin-plated copper. When insulation is required, nylon material shall
be used. Panduit recommended tooling shall be used.

Suggested Specification
for PAN-TERM® Screw-On Connectors |
Screw-on type connectors shall be Panduit P-CONN"! connectors.
The connector shall be nylon insulated, with appropriate barrel markings.
The P-CONN"! connector shall have an expanding square wire spring.
Panduit recommended installation procedures shall be followed.

Suggested Specification
for PAN-TERM® Wire Joints |
Insulated or non-insulated multiple wire compression type connectors
shall be Panduit PAN-TERM® wire joints. The wire joint shall
be made of tin-plated copper, with stamped markings on the barrel or housing.
When insulation is required, nylon material shall be used. Panduit recommended
tooling shall be used for installation.

Suggested Specification
for REEL SMART"! Terminations |
High volume production terminations shall be made with Panduit REEL
SMART"! terminals, disconnects, and butt splices. The terminals, disconnects
and butt splices shall be furnished on a continuously molded strip, with
the integrally molded carrier at the barrel crimp zone, packaged on a spool-type
reel. The terminals, disconnects and butt splices shall be stamped with
the appropriate markings. These products shall be terminated using a single
applicator (CA-800) employing multiple die sets (CD-800-*).

Tooling |
The installation tooling used shall be a controlled cycle crimping
tool as manufactured by Panduit. These tools are designed to prevent undercrimping
and overcrimping. These tools leave an embossed die marking on the terminal,
signifying a proper crimp. This includes, but is not limited to the following
Panduit Tools: The CT-310-1, CT-400, CT-460, CT-500, CT-510, CT-520, CT-550,
CT-570 or the CT-600, CT-1014, CT-1015, CT-1550, CT-1551 or the CT-1570.
The tool used shall be chosen based on the type of terminal, disconnect,
or splice and the manufacturer's recommendations.
