Let igus do the work for you: Iglide QuickSpec

iglide oil-free, self-lubricating bearings are made from engineering polymers tailored to fit specific application requirements. Over 2000 sizes, in inch and metric dimensions, are available from stock.

iglide bearings have been used form over 10 years in applications ranging from medical devices to professional fitness machinery, industrial shock absorbers, pneumatic cylinders, robotic grippers, agriculutural equipment and many other applications.

With eight different material blends, each with specific performance characteristics, we are bound to have something that is perfect for your design.

iglide M250 is a thick-walled light-duty bearing used in many types of machinery to dampen vibration and shock loads. iglide M250 is dimensionally interchangeable with most sintered metal bearings, and can be retro-fitted without changing the housing bore or shaft. Typically they’re used in agricultural and exercise equipment and machinery such as woodworking, packaging and welding equipment.
iglide G300 is a multi-purpose material frequently used due to its universal qualities and high efficiency. The areas of application include sectors of automotive and aeronautical manufacturing, agricultural and gardening equipment, textile, paper and packaging machines, tooling equipment, office machinery, furniture, medical equipment, pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders, robotic arms, shipbuilding, etc...
iglide L280 is available for situations where even the excellent abrasion resistance of the G300 and T500 is insufficient. Its superior characteristics are especially well suited for high performance requirements. Applications include, for example, pneumatic cylinders, lifting equipment, fitness machinery, industrial brakes, clutches and automotive components in general.
iglide T500 was initially designed for applications in chemical processing equipment. T500 uses a unique combination of exotic materials best suited to high load, temperature and speed applications. It is resistant to virtually all substances, except for concentrated sulfuric acids. At present, this material is unique and unequaled. Applications include chemical mountings and pumps, oven manufacture, semi-conductors, film developing equipment, equipment for industrial-sized kitchens, etc...
iglide A200 was developed specifically for use in food and pharmaceutical industries. It has been officially approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for contact with foods.
iglide QNEW iglide Q has been developed specifically for high-pressure applications. Extreme radial loads occur time and again in lift tables and material handling equipment. Bearings can be subjected to high pressures in clamping operations and hoisting equipment. External lubricants can be squeezed out of metal bearings under such conditions. Solid lubricants can be squeezed out of metal bearings under such conditions. Solid lubricant films such as PTFE or Molybdenum Disulfide can be ineffective in high load situations. Within the iglide product range, iglide Q displays by far the highest wear resistance under high loads.

Special Characteristics of iglide Q:

  • High abrasion resistance under extreme loads
  • Maintenance-free, dry-running
  • Reduces mechanical vibrations
  • High PV values
  • Suitable for rotary, oscillating, and linear motion

iglide JNEW iglide J is a low-cost bearing for light loads, providing very low friction in almost any environment. iglide J is specially designed for start/stop, light duty applications, and requires no external lubrication. The stick-slip tendency is extremely low, a fact of particular significance in low-load, very low-speed applications. iglide J can also be used for high speed, more than 3ft/second, applications, due to its low coefficient of friction.
Lab Test:

3mm I.D. sleeve in computer fan. iglide J sleeve and roller ball bearing were operated simultaneously, 5,800 R.P.M.. After constant cycling, iglide J friction measured lower than roller bearing.

Special Characteristics of iglide J:

  • Very low coefficient of friction
  • Very good abrasion resistance
  • Reduces mechanical vibrations
  • Maintenance-free, dry-running
  • Very low moisture absorption
  • Suitable for stainless steel and aluminum shafting
  • Rotary, linear, and oscillating motion

iglide Clips for use in stamped sheet metal housings. iglide Clips have a flange on both ends, one large and one small one. A slot across the lenght of the bearing allows it be compressed for installation. Manufactured from proven iglide M250, iglide Clips are ideally suited for low load applications in such devices as printers, ticket dispensers, vending machines and others.
iglide L1 are very-close tolerance bushings for linear and rotational movements. A unique design makes for very-close tolerances regardless of changes in humidity or temperature. Originally designed for linear applications, it also works well in rotary and oscillating motions. Applications in printers, artifical limbs, medical diagnostic equipment and others have been accomplished.
