Plastite® Fasteners   Technical Data
Plastite thread-forming screws are used for fastening plastics.

  • Tri-lobular thread form
  • 45 degree thread profile for engineered and thermoset plastics
  • 48 degree thread profile for thermoplastics
  • Steep helix angle
  • Twin or single helix
  • Diameters for M0.82 to M8.51 (#000 to 5/16")

  • Resists vibration loosening
  • Minimal radial stress reduces boss failure
  • Eliminates inserts
  • Generates strong mating threads
  • Eliminates tapping costs

PT® Screws
PT Screws are thread-forming screws for assembling thermoplastics.

  • 30 degree angle profile
  • Sizes from M1.5 to M10
  • Core recess at minor diameter
  • 8 degree helix angle
  • Symmetrical threads

  • Allows thinner bosses to be designed
  • Reduces radial stress
  • Maximizes clamp load retention
  • Resists relaxation and vibration loosening
  • Lowers installation torque

Duro-PT® Screws
Duro-PT Screws are thread-cutting screws for thermoset plastics.

  • Shank slot
  • Sizes from M2.2 to M8
  • Asymmetrical threads
  • 30 degree flank angle
  • 4 degree helix angle

  • Eliminates the need for supplemental locking devices such as adhesives or inserts
  • Maintains clamp load retention
  • Offers high strip-out torques
  • Resists vibration loosening
  • Reduces stress on bosses

Pushtite® Fasteners
Pushtite screws are designed to be installed into plastics by pushing them into place.

  • Barbed thread profile with helix allows fastener removal
  • Available with or without drive system
  • Diameters from M0.82 to M8.51 (#000 to 5/16")
  • Thread-rolling fastener

  • Presses into place
  • Resists pull-out
  • Reduces strip-out
  • Speeds assembly operations
  • Reduces boss failure

Powergrip® Fasteners
Powergrip fasteners are ideal for attaching soft materials--such as plastics--to sheet metals.

  • Serration and undercut formed under shoulder
  • Knurled shoulder
  • Reduced distance between last thread and bottom of shoulder
  • Sizes from M3 to M8 (#4 to 5/16")

  • Eliminates crushing of plastic material
  • Provides tight joint
  • Resists vibration loosening
  • Eliminates need for nut assembly
  • Increased strip-out torque
  • Positive thread engagement

PLASTORX® Assemblies
PLASTORX metal fasteners can be molded into plastic or rubber components.

  • Broad bearing surface
  • Available as an assembly or separate fastener
  • TORX configuration for rotation resistance
  • Threaded shaft for nut member
  • Flange on top of the head enhances performance

  • Provides maximum pull-out resistance
  • Offers high rotation resistance
  • Reduces potential stress risers
  • Can be incorporated into carrier strips to reduce assembly time and costs

Sems Fasteners
Sems threaded fasteners are assemblies that combine fasteners with washers, collars, specialized stampings, or other components.

  • Wide variety of component and fastener styles available
  • Sizes from M1 to M12 (#00 to 5/8")
  • Single component assembly
  • Components are captivated onto the fastener

  • Eliminates hand assembly of washers
  • Increases production; ensures product integrity
  • Assures proper fastener and washer match
  • Simplifies purchasing and inventory control
  • Eliminates lost, dropped, or forgotten washers

PERMA-NUT® Fasteners
The PERMA-NUT fastener combines the functions of a semi-tubular rivet and a nut.

  • Handles a wide range of material thicknesses
  • Comes standard with ribs
  • Available in a variety of metals and thread sizes
  • Inserted by standard presses or rivet-setting machines

  • Acts as a nut plate, nut plate and pivot bearing, nut plate and spacer, nut and busing, or nut and rivet
  • High push-out resistance
  • Solid rotational resistance
  • Can be used in thin materials

CREST CUPTM Fasteners
CREST CUP fasteners are sems spring-washer assemblies.

  • Wide variety of head and thread styles
  • Pre-assembled fastener and washer combination
  • Sizes from M2 to M10 (#2 to 5/16")
  • Burr-free bearing surface

  • Provides maximum joint integrity
  • Retains spring returnability
  • Reduces tension loss
