Avdel Cherry lockbolts are designed to meet the higher life cycle demands of today's new equipment designs. Lockbolts offer time savings during assembly and long-term savings in reduced warranty claims. The advantages offered by lockbolts are:

Installation

1. The lockbolt is inserted into the prepared hole.
2. The collar is placed on the lockbolt.
3. The tool pulls on the tail of the bolt, drawing the sheets together and forming the collar into the locking grooves.
4. After the collar is completely formed onto the bolt, the tool continues to pull until the tail of the bolt is tensioned off.
   

Selecting The Proper Lockbolt

1. Select a lockbolt that meets shear, tensile and head style requirements.
2. Select a material that is compatible with the materials being joined and the environment the application will be subjected to.
3. Measure the combined thickness of all materials to be joined. You must add to the grip when using a flanged collar. Refer to drawings for actual dimensions.
